Benefits of Tasbih

Benefits of Tasbih

Incorporating dhikr in your daily habits and taking time to remember our Creator will change your life in many ways. Think about it: isn’t such a beautiful sign of faith and respect to our Lord to not wait for Salah to acknowledge Him and His Greatness?

You most likely already know and perform Tasbih on a regular basis but we thought we would take time today to share with you a few of the benefits of tasbih.

It strengthens your relationship to Allah

Tasbih makes you realize He is The One in control of everything and The One whose love is endless. This is all amplified when you actually know the meaning of the words you pronounce as it just really pushes you to meditate and embrace your bond to Him even more.

The first part is all about celebrating the glory of our Lord by saying ‘Subhan’Allah’. Whether it comes to His attributes or His creation, there are plenty of things to be mesmerized by when it comes to contemplating His perfection. Our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) actually said: "There are two expressions which are very easy for the tongue to say, but they are very heavy in the balance and are very dear to The Beneficent (Allah), and they are, 'Subhan’Allah Al-Adhim and 'Subhan’Allah wa bihamdihi.'"(Sahih al-Bukhari 6406)

Then we focus on gratitude, which is the essence of the beautiful word ‘Alhamdulillah’. We too often focus on the things we don’t have in life, things that are not going the way we’d like them to, to the point we forget to be appreciative the smallest blessings Allah has granted us. In fact, He told us: “If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would never be able to count them. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (16:18)

Finally comes the time to recognize the overall greatness of our Lord by saying ‘Allahu Akbar’. Humans tend to be arrogant and assume they have the solution to anything and everything. Recognizing Allah is the Greatest means you’re surrendering yourself to Him and are going back to a state of humility by admitting you can’t have control over everything.

It calms your heart and soul

There’s no doubt that the more you nurture your imaan, the more peaceful your heart and soul will feel. There are many ways through which Islam allows us to find balance and preserve our mental health, and tasbih is surely one of them. Think about it: throughout the day, you’re able to reset, think about your intentions, slow down and meditate. And the best part is, it only takes a few minutes Subhan’Allah! Allah has really made it easy for us to reconnect with Him and relieve all the tensions this dunya can cause us, anywhere at any time. That’s actually the reason why we came up with different sizes of our ethically made Palestinian wood misbahas: whether you want a meaningful bigger piece to have in your prayer corner or smaller one that you can always have in your bag, we created different options so you never miss an opportunity to remember Him and calm yourself.

We hope this inspires you to really implement tasbih to your daily life!

My your heart always be rahat.

Assia
